International students about FER...

Bachelor programmes in English

FER offers two bachelor programmes in English. Both study programmes last three years (6 semesters, 180 ECTS points) and offer specializations in the third year. These study programmes share a common first year (two semesters).

Electrical Engineering and Information Technology

Electrical Engineering covers the application of physical laws about electromagnetic phenomena in development of products and services that provide a benefit to the mankind. Information technology uses computers, computer networks, communication systems and technology to sense, process, store and display the information, today has a significant impact on electrical engineering.

Computing

The principal object of study in Computing is the computer as a universal data processing machine, together with the methods of its application in diverse areas.

Master programmes in English

FER offers three master programmes in English. They last two years (4 semesters, 120 ECTS points) and incude a Master Thesis in the final semester.

Doctoral study programme

FER offers a doctoral study programme in the area of technical sciences, scientific field of electrical engineering and the scientific field of computing. The core components of a university doctoral study are scientific research and creativity.

Within the programme, the students are introduced to scientific research work and prepared for a career in either scientific and academic sectors or for research and development in the economy, where they can contribute to the prosperity and welfare of the society by creating new knowledge and technologies.

Upon the successful completion of the re-accreditation in 2017, doctoral study programme "Electrical Engineering and Computing"  was awarded with the ‘High Quality’ label and certificate by the Croatian Agency for Science and Higher Education.

Specialist study

Alongside specialist courses, lifelong education on FER exists in the form of four postgraduate specialist studies, where economy experts get educated in new technologies.

Transformers

Transformers are the basic and most common element of electrical systems, and their role in the power generation system is of a particular importance. Our aim is to educate specialists in the field of transformers, necessary for the economy, higher education and science.

The regulation of the electronic communications market

The regulation of the electronic communications market is a complex task which requires an interdisciplinary approach that combines knowledge of economy, law and technology, especially information and communication technology.

Information Security

Specialist study of information security helps to meet the growing demand for information security specialists who possess a good balance of analytical skills and business acumen. The program combines security policies, management and technical aspects of information security and risk management.

Railway Electrical Systems

We educate a specialist who will advance the development, design, production and maintenance of railway electrical systems components by using modern methods and insights, and that requires interdisciplinary knowledge.
