Computing

Duration of study programme: 2 years
ECTS points: 120
Qualification awarded: Master of Science in Computing

Prerequisites:

Admission to the Master of Science programmes at FER is open to persons holding a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and information technology, in computing and in electrical engineering or other related bachelor degrees. To follow this programme, first cycle study programmes at other faculties or universities, in technical and natural sciences or similar fields, are completely or partially sufficient.

Short description:

The principal object of study in Computing is the computer as a universal data processing machine, together with the methods of its application in diverse areas. The holistic approach to hardware, software, and hardware-software dependencies is used. Computing encompasses the theory, methods of analysis and synthesis, design and construction, application, and operation of computer systems. This second cycle study programme enables a student to acquire the competencies to solve difficult engineering problems, to design complex systems, to act as a leader of a team, and to conduct research and development in one of three profiles.
Within the study programme Computing, a student immediately decides on a profile. The profile determines the list of theoretical and specialization courses to choose from.
