Data Protection – Privacy Policy

Personal Data Controller

University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, Unska 3, PIN: 57029260362 (hereinafter: FER) protects your personal data and takes all necessary technical and organizational measures in accordance with the best practice and requirements prescribed by Croatian laws and General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter: the Regulation).

With the Privacy Policy, FER regulates management of the data that is collected and processed when our web pages are visited. Personal data processing is based on one of the legal bases for processing.

Contact

If you contact us via form on this web page or via email, your data that you submit will remain stored with us until you revoke it or until it is necessary for a purpose which depends on the nature of our business relation. Your data will not be further forwarded without your consent, and we will obey legal regulations, especially regarding the time limits for personal data storage.

Candidates for enrolment and enrolment procedures

FER Student Service collects and processes candidates’ personal data in order to realize their enrolment to study. Processing can also be completed electronically. If a candidate enrols in a study programme at FER, his or her submitted data will be stored in accordance with legal regulations relating to studying. If a candidate does not enrol in a study programme at FER, we will keep his or her personal data in our database in accordance with regulations on archival records keeping.

Candidates for employment and employment procedures

Human resources at FER collect and process candidates’ personal data in order to manage job applications. Processing can also be completed electronically. If FER signs an employment contract with a candidate, his or her submitted data will be stored in accordance with legal regulations relating to employment agreements. If FER does not sign an employment contract with a candidate, his or her personal data will be deleted upon expiration of a deadline for legal remedies specified in the tender, except in cases where we keep it in our database for a potential future employment, with candidate’s consent.

Data processing (data on partners and contracts)

We process your personal data that we gather during a business relationship, such as your name, surname, PIN, address, email, vehicle registration plate number and other. If it is necessary for the performance of our business activities and unrelated to a specific contractual or business relationship, we gather information from public sources (Court Register, Financial Agency) or receive it legitimately from public authorities, contractual partners or third parties.

We collect, process and use personal data only when it is necessary for rationale, content editing, or change of legal status (status data). Pursuant to Article 6, paragraph 1, item b of the GDPR, the processing of data for the realization of contracts or pre-contractual measures is lawful. We collect, process and use personal data about the use of our website (usage data) only if it is necessary to allow the user to use this service or to account for it. Data records on partners is deleted after the conclusion of business or upon expiration of business relationship, respecting the prescribed deadlines for records keeping.

Cookies

FER web page and other FER web services use cookies. Cookies are small textual files which are stored on your device with the help of a browser, which does not cause any damage. We use cookies to adapt our offer to user needs, and some of them stay on your device until you delete them. They enable us to recognize your browser during your next visit. If you don’t want that, you can set your browser to inform you about storing cookies, so that you can allow it only in specific cases. Upon deactivation of cookies, our web page functionality will be limited.

Server logs

Webmaster collects and automatically stores information which is automatically sent by your browser, in the files called server logs. Those include: browser type and version, used operation system, URL pointing to websites, host name of a connecting computer, the time of the server request and the IP address. Linking this data to other sources of data is not implemented.

Newsletter

If you want to receive Newsletter and other notices that we occasionally send via email, we need your email address and information which will enable us to verify that you are the owner of that email address and that you agree to receive the Newsletter. Other data is not collected. We use this information exclusively for the purpose of sending the requested information and we do not forward it to third parties.

When you sign up for Newsletter, we immediately send you a confirmation email asking you to verify your application. You can always revoke your consent to store your data and email address and to use it for the Newsletter, for example by using the unsubscribe option in the newsletter.

Your rights

You have the right to receive information about your personal data that we collect, store and process, the right to rectify inaccuracies, to delete, limit and transfer data, to revoke and to file complains. If you think that our processing of your personal data is in violation of rights prescribed in GDPR or feel that your rights arising from GDPR are otherwise violated, you can file a complaint to Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency, Martićeva ulica 14, Zagreb, azop@azop.hr, http://azop.hr/.

If you don’t agree with FER Personal Data Protection Policy, please do not use our web page and do not share your data with us. Every change of FER Privacy Policy will be published on FER web page.
