Short description of project
Trends show that ubiquitous computing hardware will be manufactured in large quantities and cheaply. The main problem will be the function – software. It determines the behaviour of each element, as well as their performance together. Basic software, upgrading and mutual communication are the basic unknowns of such systems, which consist of a large number of cells, and function as a whole. The classic computing approach does not work in this situation anymore, because it cannot create new program paradigms. This is the key problem of today.
The project goal is to develop theories and models, and achieve results related to:
- integration of all levels of networked computers from web services to microcomputers
built into our environment,
- software engineering adapted to conceptual and physical resources described as highly
distributed systems,
- openness which implies systems based on interoperability, portability and scalability.
