Short description of project
The implementation of remote calibrations using the Internet as a transmission medium is rapidly emerging as a solution to all of the transportation, enviromental, downtime and cost issues with current calibration practice. However, Internet enabled calibration must address such issues such as security, accreditation, data warehousing, electronic certificates and firewalls, together with the design and use of applicable transfer standards. In conclusion, Internet enabled calibration, since first mentioned in the last years of 20th century is now becoming the next-generation of standards dissemination system by means of information and communication technology and their applications.
