Short description of project

The interaction of power units in power plants and the grid in every electrical power system is related to the demands of the grid code. The parameter quality of the main electric equipment of power units in power plants as main dynamic units of the system needs to be selected and confirmed according to these demands. This project aims toward establishing a general non-linear, mathematical i.e. digital simulation model of a regulated power unit attached to the grid which should, with consideration to the grid code, remain dynamically or quasistationarily stable in case the following faults should occur: •Three-phase near-to-generator short-circuit •Line-to-earth near-to-generator short-circuit •Active power step change •Line imbalance. Power unit control system based on classical control algorithms as well as (on) adaptive, neuro, fuzzy and their combinations will be founded. Research will be made into the sensitivity of important parameters of power unit control systems in the conditions of any faults within realistic expectations, as well as a comparison of the research systems' functioning with respect to power system faults and of the power unit's operating stability. Experimental verification of control algorithms will be performed on a lab-model of an electrical power system.
