Short description of project
Composite materials have different acoustical properties than classic, and they can be specifically constructed to aid the noise reduction in objects/vehicles by absorption or sound insulation. The principal goal of the project is to determine the relevant acoustical properties of such materials using simulations and measurements on prototypes, in order to optimize their acoustic role. In the research process, the accuracy and applicability of existing methods for measuring sound absorption and diffusion will be analyzed, and new will be implemented.
