Short description of project
Personal Recognition from Video Sequences Obtained under Unsupervised Conditions.
The objective of this projekt is to develop methods and techniques for personal recognition in video sequences which are obtained under unsupervised conditions, i.e. conditions when light or environment are uncontrolled. Video sequences are recorded with one sensor, by help of an active source of IR light, produces sequences of RGB images (in daylight condition) or sequences of gray-level images (in dark or weak light conditions). Based on these video seqences, methods for detection and localzation of faces and hands, will be developed. The expected results of the project are development of methods for preprocessing video sequences (RGB and IR) and for computing persons' biometric templates, as well as, the development of an experimental biometric system for unsupervised personal recognition
Short description of the task performed by Croatian partner
Cilj suradnje je izmjena rezultata istraživanja, prijenos znanja (posebice na mlađe suradnike na projektu – znanstvene novake), zamisli i tehnologije u rješavanju složenih problema vezanih oblikovanje robustnih algoritama za detekciju, lokalizaciju lica i ruku, te izgradnju eksperimentalnog biometrijskog sustava za raspoznavanje osoba. Budući da se koristi kao ulaz u sustav kratka video sekvenca istražit će se mogućnosti uporabe i raspoloživih ponašajnih značajki osoba. Ciljevi zajedničkog rada na predloženom projektu su:
Generiranje ispitnih baza (video sekvence s osobama i bez njih snimljene pod nekontroliranim uvjetima).
Razvoj postupaka pretprocesiranja i oblikovanja biometrijskih predložaka temeljenih na video sekvencama (RGB i IR)
Razvoj postupaka raspoznavanja na temelju video sekvenci te fuzije na različitim razinama sustava
Razvoj eksperimentalnog biometrijskog sustava za identifikaciju/verifikaciju osoba koje (uvjetno) aktivno i voljno ne sudjeluju tijekom akvizicije.
