Short description of project

The Contractor undertakes to perform the Research Project entitled ‘Financial Risk Evaluation, Using IAEA FINPLAN Tool, for Financing New Large Energy Project Build, Especially Nuclear, in Liberalised Markets for Company with Large Part of Production by Hydro Power Plants’ (hereinafter referred to as the “Research Project”) which forms a part of the IAEA’s Co-ordinated Research Project I11008, entitled “Financing Nuclear Investments”. The Chief Scientific Investigator shall be Mr Zeljko, Tomsic.  

Short description of the task performed by Croatian partner

The programme of the work to be performed under this Research project shall be: (1) Develop 3 case-studies regarding the way in which different local parameters can lead to different architectures and combinations of financing arrangements (2) Refine and augment a simple energy finance model (FINPLAN) to evaluate finance in the context of an energy system with a high degree of penetration by hydroelectric generation (3) Develop alternative models of financing nuclear (and other large energy) projects in different environments (4) Explore potential sources of funding for such projects (5) Explore the development of regional projects in international markets.
