Today is the international day of women and girls in science!
With the above mentioned, we would like to tell you a few facts:
👩🎓 in the current year 2023/2024,102 students enrolled in our study of electrical engineering, of which 32 are girls
👩💼 in the last 10 years, the number of female employees in the Department has increased from four to 14
👩💻 at the Department today, the ratio of employed women-men is 14-35, which means that the share of women is 29%
👩🏫 in 2023, we got our first female assistant professor Mirna Gržanić
👩🚀 what it is like to be a female engineer in a field dominated by men, we commented on three panel discussions
🎤 two podcasts were held on the topic: ŽensCast#8 and ŽensCast#9
💁♀️ four (out of a total of nine) doctorates last year at ZVNE were defended by women
Ladies, you are amazing, don't stop pushing the boundaries. 💪
To sum it up, in a words of Mae Jemison, Engineer, Physicist and Former NASA Astronaut: "Don't let anyone rob you of your imagination, your creativity, or your curiosity. It's your place in the world; it's your life. Go on and do all you can with it, and make it the life you want to live.”
