The 8th edition of the leading Croatian electricity distribution conference, HO CIRED, was held in Seget Donji from June 4th to June 6th. Since we recognize the importance of distribution networks in green energy transition, five members of our department participated in the conference. Besides networking and discussing the newest developments and challenges in the market, planning and operational aspects, we played a significant role in the event. We are extremely proud of our professors Tomislav Capuder and Davor Škrlec, who received awards for their contribution to the technical development of power distribution systems. Congratulations on the great job you have been doing!
During the opening day, Professor Hrvoje Pandzic moderated the discussion “Complementarity of distributed renewable sources and battery storage”, welcoming the experts from HEP ODS, HEP d.d., Rimac Energy and Končar Inem, who presented their views and experience in the topic.
Besides receiving the award, professor Capuder presented Smart Grid research projects at our department and participated in the round table discussions that followed with a number of colleagues from the Croatian research community.
Professor Škrlec was the chair of the session SO4/SO7 as the president of the committee SO4.
Finally, our researchers Tomislav Antić and Terezija Matijašević presented the findings of three papers aimed at developing tools that improve operation of smart grids with high share of renewables and other low carbon technologies.
