We invite you to the VISTA research seminar titled:

"Estimation of scene structure and camera movement with calibrated stereo camera system"

held by Ivan Krešo, mag.ing.comp.

The seminar will be held on Wednesday 18.6.2013. at 15:30 in D306.

More about the lecture and the speaker can be found in the detailed news content.

Abstract

With advancement in computer performance and camera quality, stereo vision is becoming an
increasingly important source of information in computer vision.
This seminar provides an overview of a stereo system with an emphasis on the problem of visual odometry.
Visual odometry is a technique for estimating egomotion of a monocular or multiple camera system from
a sequence of acquired images. The technique is interesting due to many interesting applications such as
autonomous navigation or driver assistance, but also because it forms the basis for more involved
approaches which rely on partial or full 3D reconstruction of the scene.
