Luka Lugaric attended the conference.

Speakers at the conference included representatives of the US government and industry professionals directly involved in creation of standards for new generation of SCADA systems. The focus was on discussion of practical, commercial solutions for evaluating the real security threats, deploying security measures, mitigating security risks around wireless and smart grid, keeping your business network security segregated from the internet and public interface without limiting the functionality of the business, analysing the most cost effective technologies that can keep supervisory networks secure both now and in the future.

The conference focused on providing solutions in the following key areas:

  • Vulnerabilities: Providing real life examples on how leading utilities assess their vulnerabilities and quantify the risk to evaluate what security measures should be implemented.
  • Real World Intrusions: Deciphering the issues around intrusion events with real world examples of protective schemes implemented before and after the event and understanding what disaster recovery plan is most effective
  • Technology focus: Understanding the latest security technologies surrounding wireless devices and how to deploy such measures cost effectively
  • Critical infrastructure: Looking at attacks in relation to architecture and connections to understand the infrastructure of your SCADA system to know which interfaces need to be secured to lock down your connections and guarantee system integrity
  • Devices: Analyzing the latest technologies available for providing security down to the device level
