The Smart City Expo World Congress was international benchmark for smart cities. The four-day event in Barcelona brought together more than six thousands professionals, houndred companies and close to three hundreds speakers to discuss the cities of the future, along with representatives from over fifty cities on all five continents. The conferences addressed the most immediate challenges facing cities in particular but also society in general. Some of the main conclusions included the conviction that we have come to a key point in our history at which we need to tackle the unavoidable urbanization of the planet, and we need to do so effectively by putting our citizens at the forefront of any transformation.
