About

Director's Welcome

Welcome to the website of the HPC Architecture and Application Research Center, our virtual showcase space where we would like to let you know what we do and the reason why we do it. This website presents the research projects we are conducting, publications and materials we publish, and the events and activities we participate in. We believe that research areas and the field of study we are working in are crucial to solving some of the global challenges the world is facing, and the invaluable team members of our Center are the ones who can give their wholehearted contribution in trying to tackle those challenges.

How We Started

The Center was founded in 2008 with the purpose of connecting the researchers and their potential in a common goal: working on the design of high-performance, energy-efficient, application-specific computing systems. The Center operates within the Department of Control and Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb. In addition to teaching duties some of our members are fulfilling, we realized that a common space was needed to enable us to focus our interests in HPC and connect the research projects we have been conducting. Under the guidance of prof. dr. sc. Mario Kovač, the team started off their activities by proposing and developing numerous research projects – in EU- and national-funded programs, as well as projects with industry.
