FER and FSB held Green Energy...

On Monday 26th of February, two leading Croatian technical faculties, FER and FSB, held a workshop on the green energy transition. Key note speakers were our Mirna Gržanić, Goran Krajacic from FSB and Leila Luttenberger Marić from KONČAR - Digital.

They presented the challenges related to achieving EU goals in the transition towards low carbon power system. In response to the challenges, our experts cited that multidisciplinarity, cooperation between science and industry as well as the education of students at all levels with an emphasis on the Study of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Sources in Šibenik,  are key to the development of Croatian energy sector. As part of the SOLAR FER program (''Photovoltaic system for the production of electricity for own needs in grid operation SE-FER-005 – Phase 11'' with a total value of 815,000 euros was financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA ) in 2014-2021 with the national co-financing of the Republic of Croatia in the amount of EUR 693,000.00 in grants under the "Energy and Climate Change" Program), our faculty will install a 600 kW solar power plant and a battery storage with a capacity of 200 kWh on the roof of its buildings which will make it a very attractive living lab and attract leading experts in the field of energy, but also become one of the pioneers of climate neutrality.
