Course Description

Parameters of ultrasonic fields. Equation of state, motion and continuity and wave equation. Connections between acoustics parameters and derivation of wave equation. Propagation of ultrasound waves in gases, liquids and solids. Ultrasonic generators. Piezoelectric and magnetostrictive ultrasonic transducers. Measuring electromechanical parameters of ultrasound transducers and determination of equivalent circuits. Automatic tracking of transducers resonant frequency. One-dimensional and three-dimensional models of ultrasound transducers. Determination of loading medium parameters by measuring electromechanical parameters of transducer. Nonlinear and thermodynamical effects in ultrasound transducers and loading mediums. Surgical, therapeutic and diagnostic ultrasound. Ultrasound systems for non-destructive material evaluation. Modelling ultrasound transducers by using finite elements method in time and frequency domain. Modelling propagation of ultrasound waves in different loading mediums.
