Central Library

The library fund consists of professional books (48,365 volumes), with a very valuable collection of manuals, dictionaries, encyclopaedias and scientific journals (662 titles), and covers the curriculum of the Faculty. Computer library catalog can be searched on the computers in the library and via the web browser.

 

About the Library

Faculty library system consists of the Central Faculty Library as an organisational unit and departmental libraries as parts of departmental activities, with the basic purpose of improving and facilitating education and scientific and professional work in the area of technical sciences.

Central Faculty Library supports and facilitates education, scientific research and professional work in the area of technical sciences. There are twelve departmental libraries within the library system. It is located in the basement of the building D - under the Student Service.

The libraries support education, scientific research and professional work on the Faculty by:

  1. collecting, processing and storing library material and information in different formats,
  2. enabling an efficient access to information sources created as a result of the education, scientific research and professional work at the Faculty,
  3. instructing on how to retrieve and use information,
  4. cooperatiing with other libraries.

The library has been operating since 1961, as the Central Library of the former Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

Departmental libraries are under professional surveillance of the Central Faculty Library.
