At the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb the fourth workshop of EU project “VISTA - Computer Vision Innovations for Safe Traffic" was held on 20th March 2015. The coordinator of the project is the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in partnership with the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering. Junior researchers presented the work done so far in different research areas of the project.

VISTA - EU project at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb
At the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb the fourth workshop of a new EU project “VISTA - Computer Vision Innovations for Safe Traffic" was held on 20th March 2015. The workshop was attended by Croatian businessmen from the industry sector and scientists in the field of computer vision. The conference was opened by the project leader prof. dr. sc. Sven Lončarić who presented the objectives of the project VISTA after which the companies in the industry sector presented their objectives and future plans. What followed was a series of presentations in which junior researchers presented the work done in different research areas of the project.
VISTA is financed from the funds of the EU pre-accession funds, under the IPA component IIIc Operational Programme for Regional Competitiveness conducted by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports. The total project value is 685,265.45 EURO of which the EU share is 573,841.29 EURO. The coordinator of the project is the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in partnership with the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering.
The project started in April 2013 and will last for two years. The main objectives of the project is strengthening the research capacity of the two partner universities, strengthening the cooperation with SMEs in Croatian automotive sector with the goal of technology transfer, strengthening of commercial capacities in partner universities, transfering existing applications of computer vision developed in universities to small and medium-sized enterprises and the development of new applications and products with high added value in cooperation with small and medium-sized enterprises in the automotive industry.
