Professor Mislav Grgić, PhD, Vice Dean for Research at FER

Mislav Grgić is a full professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing of the University of Zagreb (FER) where he is currently a Vice Dean for Research (from 2010 until 2014). He was a supervisor of more than 50 students on undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate studies at FER. He is a full member of the Croatian Academy of Engineering (HATZ) and a Chair of IEEE Croatia Section that counts more than 800 members. He received bronze and silver plaques "Josip Loncar" from FER as well as "Vera Johanides" award for young scientists from HATZ.

Iva Bojić, PhD

Iva Bojić, PhD is a Research Associate at the Department of Telecommunications of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb in Croatia. She organized more than ten popular-scientific lectures and workshops within IEEE Croatia Section. She also held more than five popular-scientific lectures at Summer School of Science in Višnjan and Požega, University of Split and Zagreb, as well as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Back in 2011 she was the initiator of an idea of a student session organization at IEEE International Symposium ELMAR. For her scientific career she was awarded the "Google Anita Borg" by Google, the "Richard E. Merwin" by IEEE organization and the Silver Plaque "Josip Lončar", the Dean's award for outstanding                               doctoral dissertation and particularly successful scientific research. 

 

Ivana Pek, BSc

Ivana Pek is a masters student at Electrical and information technologies, Power engineering profile, studying at Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) in Zagreb. Ivana is also a Science Popularization team leader at students’ association eSTUDENT. Ivana earned her bachelor degree at Electrical Faculty in Osijek with exceptional success, participating during one semester as a demonstrator in one of her classes, Fundamentals of electrical engineering I. Last summer Ivana spent at Technology Institute Manipal, India, where she did a professional internship.

Predrag Pale, MSc

Predrag Pale is with the Department for Electronic Systems and Information Processing at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing at University of Zagreb since 1986. He's an avid lecturer both domestically and internationally on the topics of electronic systems, information security, education and soft skills to students, teachers, his colleagues, other professionals and general public alike. The „Aha“ effect in the eyes of his audience pushes him forward to explore new methods of teaching and to ever improve his own teaching skills. He particularly enjoys working with teachers. He is the principal author of a learning theories portal and two tools for recording and publishing rich lecture captures. He received award from the University of Zagreb for e-courses as well as Comenius award for methodical quality of his lecture capture tool. He received the medal of «The Order of Croatian Star with the Effigy of Ruđer Bošković», «State Award for                         Science» and Croatian IEEE Chapter Outstanding Engineering Contribution Award. He is                           listed in Croatian Encyclopedia. 

 

Ana Sović, PhD

Ana Sović is a research associate – senior assistant at the Department of Electronic Systems and Information Processing, FER. She is a member of the Committee on life-long education and e-learning at the FER and of the IEEE and EURASIP. She finished the CARNET E-learning Academy, programme Tutoring. She, with her colleagues, received two E-learning Awards for the multimedia contents in e-learning course by the University of Zagreb. Ana Sović received honorable mention and bronze medal “Josip Lončar” by FER (2004 and 2006, respectively), and Faust Vrančić National award for the technical culture in 2013. She is a mentor of robotics in Center for gifted children development “Bistrić” Zagreb, a president of Photo video club “35mm” Križ, and is a member of the National committee for the competition “Let’s describe the systems”. She has organized multidiscipline Summer school for children in Ivanić-Grad.

 

Neven Drljević, MSc

Neven Drljević is a PhD student at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, with a research focus on Technology Enhanced Learning. As a long-time member of the eSTUDENT association, enthusiastic about new technologies and opportunities they open to young people, several years ago he founded the Web Start Contest (WSC), a successful student competition in web start-up projects. He was awarded the Special Rector's Award in the field of Technical Sciences for the organization of the App Start Contest 2012 (a continuation of the WSC). Today he defends the interests of youths as a member of the Youth Advisory Board of the City of Zagreb.

 

Ivana Storjak

Ivana Storjak is a bachelor student at Electrical and information technologies, Electronics profile, studying at Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) in Zagreb. Ivana is also a Science Popularization deputy head at students’ association eSTUDENT. During her studies Ivana was a demonstrator in classes Electroacoustic and Audiotechnique.
