29 November – 2 December, 2011 –...

Zdenko Simic has contributed with presentation and participated at Smart City Expo World Congress.

Our presentation titled “Checking Numerous Smart Grid Potentials” was accepted for the Smart City Expo World Congress.

There was general agreement on what is needed to improve energy efficiency in the cities of the future: proactive, better-informed clients, meters that provide more information on consumption, and smarter management of distribution networks. however there are problems how to implement these and other changes quickly enough in order to optimize development and minimize negative environmental impact.

May 12, 2011, Eurelectric Conference...

Luka Lugaric attended the conference.

The goal of the Conference was to present, discuss and address the challenges faced by European municipalities, businesses and distribution system operators when transforming energy systems and electricity networks. It was established that “Smart” systems and technologies can lead to energy and resource efficiency through better monitoring and management of electricity distribution, buildings and transport, yet implementation models for smart cities are still unclear. It was argued that within this perspective, European distribution system operators could take up the role of facilitators by providing interoperability between the various market players of a smart city model.
