As a part of the activities of the project PERUN, funded by Find a better way (FaBW), Davorin Ambrus visited King's College London. Dr Jamie Barras and Dr Blaz Zupancic from the Humanitarian Technologies lab presented their current research work related to a development of verification sensor for humanitarian demining based on nuclear quadrupole resonance (project Aquareos). The pupose of a visit was to exchage ideas and experience of both PERUN and Aquareos teams in tackling the landmine detection problem.
During his stay in London, Davorin also attended the European Electromagnetics Symposium (EUROEM) 2106, held on July 11-14 at Imperial College London, UK, where he presented the paper "On the applicability of search coils used in commercial handheld metal detectors for metallic target characterization". The event was also used for establishing new contacts with researchers engaged in the field of landmine/UXO detection, as well as for the promotion of FaBW activities.
