Barbara Arbanas Ferreira is a postdoctoral researcher and teaching assistant in the Laboratory for Robotics and Intelligent Control Systems (LARICS) at the Department of Control and Computer Engineering, University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (UNIZG-FER). She joined the group after graduating from the Faculty in 2015. In February 2022, she obtained her Doctor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Barbara’s thesis was entitled “Decentralized mission planning for heterogeneous robotic teams based on hierarchical task representation”.

Coming from a Computer Science background, her interests include multi-robot coordination and planning, distributed artificial intelligence, scheduling, and optimization. As a researcher, she has been involved in several international and national research projects, including H2020 project subCULTron, FP7 EuRoC, and Croatian Science Foundation project SpECULARIA. In addition, she participated as a member of the LARICS team in ERL Emergency Robots 2019 and MBZIRC 2020 robotics competitions. So far, she has authored or co-authored 8 conference papers, 5 journal papers, and one book chapter. She is a student IEEE member and an active member of the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society UNIZG Student Branch Chapter.
