KISEK AT SOFTCOM CONFERENCE

During the SoftCOM conference, from September 26th to 27th, two Tempus Kisek events have taken place in Split and Dubrovnik:

  • Tempus Kisek project meeting
  • Round table at SoftCOM conference: "Software Engineering in Croatia: Towards the skills-based society?"

The first day in Split was reserved for Kisek meeting, which was aimed to presenting the current strives in opening the competence centers, with all-present discussions of the project status. Representatives from all three universities involved were present, together with most of the project partners from the industry. After the current project status presentation, the presentations from the partners took place. The universities presented their current view, ideas and development of competence centers. The industry partners from Ericsson Nkola Tesla and RING datacom presented their involvement in project with the univiersities of Zagreb and Split. The Kisek visual identity was also discussed, with an example of a project logo.

The presentations from the meeting in Split are available on the Resources page.

The second-day event was held on a ship, which took the SoftCOM conference attendees along the Adriatic Coast, from Split to Dubrovnik, the UNESCO World Heritage city.

These events, especially the round table, have enabled us to disseminate the current project results and projects goals to the broader audience of IT experts and university staff from Croatia and abroad. The overall Tempus Kisek project presentation was given by Ivana Bosnić, which was followed by the round table: "Software engineering in Croatia: Towards the skills-based society?". The discussion introduction was given by Igor Čavrak and Branko Beslač, who presented two aspects of software engineering in Croatia today: how to deal with pressures from the industry in the higher education, and how SME's are coping with SE status today.

The presentations from the round table are available on the Resources page.

... in an interesting surrounding: airplane-like boat cruising along the Adriatic coast :-)

... and interesting Dubrovnik scenes by day (don't worry, it's just a tourist attraction...)
