On the occasion of the Italian Research Day in the World, FER, in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Zagreb, the Ruđer Bošković Institute, and the Italian Cultural Institute in Zagreb, is organizing the panel discussion AI Beyond the Hype: Limits, Innovations, and Perspectives.
This event offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into experiences and best practices in the use of artificial intelligence from a neighboring country renowned for its tradition of excellence in physics, theoretical computer science, and complex systems engineering. The panel will take place on April 16, 2026, at 10 AM in the Grey Hall.
The first part of the program will feature a roundtable on the current state of artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on technologies that are effectively applied today in industry, services, critical infrastructure, and public policy, as well as Italy’s contributions in these areas and the risks associated with the use of artificial intelligence.
The second roundtable will focus on the future of artificial intelligence and advanced research directions, including neuro-symbolic AI, multi-agent systems, federated learning, neuromorphic architectures, high-performance computing, and quantum computing, fields that are actively being developed in research laboratories and large-scale computing infrastructures.
The event program is available here, and registration is available via the application form.
