200 High School Students Became FER Students for a Day!

A special energy filled FER last Friday – you could feel the excitement, curiosity, and that positive anticipation that comes when young people full of questions and ambition gather in one place. We held our new event, "Become a FER Student for a Day", and we’re thrilled to say it exceeded all our expectations!

We welcomed around 200 high school students from as many as 20 different schools. From the very beginning, the energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm of young people seriously considering their future in electrical engineering, computing, and related fields were unmistakable.

We are especially happy and proud that student interest was truly remarkable – there was even a waiting list for the lab sessions! The program began with an introductory lecture and a panel discussion titled "Why Enroll at FER?", where students heard firsthand experiences from our students and faculty members. This was followed by the lecture "From Banana to Number, or How Electronics Measures the World", which demonstrated in a practical and entertaining way how reality is transformed into data that computers can understand.

The most exciting part of the day took place in the laboratories, where participants took part in real, authentic lab sessions like those attended by our students. They could choose from topics such as the basics of electrical engineering, hunting cosmic particles, electronics, and an introduction to programming – and they demonstrated an impressive level of knowledge, resourcefulness, and team spirit.

We concluded the day with a shared lunch in the student cafeteria, in a relaxed atmosphere, exchanging impressions and – we believe – making new decisions about future studies.

Dear high school students, thank you for your attendance, energy, and the interest you showed. We are delighted that today you confirmed that young people are motivated, talented, and ready to step into the world of knowledge, research, and innovation.

See you in the fall – at FER!
