FER Awards Specialist Degrees in High-Impact Technology and Business Disciplines

A new generation of specialists, growing in number year after year, at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER), University of Zagreb, has successfully completed specialist studies in key technological and business fields specifically tailored to the demands of the modern labor market.

A total of 27 professionals from the private and public sectors, as part of FER’s lifelong learning programs, further enhanced their skills for leadership positions and gained additional experience in the areas of Information Security; Product Management, Digital Innovation and Insurance Technology (INSURTECH); Transformers; and Project Management.

At the beginning of the graduation ceremony and the presentation of well-earned certificates, the Dean of FER, Prof. Vedran Bilas, PhD, addressed the graduates, emphasizing that the employability rate of newly graduated professionals in Croatia is just under 80%, while more than 75% of employers face difficulties in finding talented candidates for open positions.

"We value your willingness to learn and invest in new knowledge, and especially your choice of study programs at FER. You decided to continue your education in order to specialize further and acquire the competencies necessary for developing your careers in a dynamic business environment. Companies and organizations, their modes of operation, the regulatory framework and technologies, as well as labor market needs, are constantly changing. Only by increasing labor productivity can Croatia achieve sustainable economic growth, and this requires new knowledge across all aspects of business operations and the functioning of public institutions", said Dean Bilas.

Marijana Dumančić, a participant in the Product Management, Digital Innovation and Insurance Technology – INSURTECH program and CEO of KOREQT, addressed the audience on behalf of the graduates, emphasizing that knowledge is not a final goal, but a continuous process.
"We are completing this program aware that we are not leaving with ready-made answers, but with an understanding that the right questions are often more important than quick answers. Knowledge that was once sufficient is today merely a starting point. True value is not measured by the amount of material mastered, but by a willingness to learn, adapt, and remain open to new perspectives, as professionals, but also as people", said Dumančić.

Specialist studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, as a form of lifelong learning, cover topics of interest to future modern leaders, providing insight into the most advanced technological concepts and trends.

Through lifelong learning programs such as FER’s specialist studies, participants acquire skills that not only meet current market needs but also prepare them for new business challenges in an industry that evolves on a daily basis, making them more competitive and highly qualified.

A recording of the graduation ceremony is available on FER’s YouTube channel, and photos from the event can be viewed here.
