On Thursday, 5 June 2025, FER will proudly host the 10th anniversary of PhD Day in lecture hall D2, showcasing the latest scientific achievements of its doctoral students in fields that define today’s technological and societal progress. We warmly invite the general public to join us at this event, which has, for years, celebrated science, innovation, and the visionary research of young scientists!

The research presented this year reflects the most current challenges and trends in industry and science. The focus is on topics that strongly shape the world we live in today. These include biomedical engineering, sustainable energy, cybersecurity, and machine learning.

As part of PhD Day, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in a poster session, offering insights into dissertations in their final stages, as well as glimpses into upcoming doctoral work that is set to shift paradigms.

We have also prepared four thematic panel discussions, introduced by prominent industry representatives:

• Miroslav Šaban (Philips Croatia)
• Ivan Paić (Končar)
• Robert Perica (ReversingLabs)
• Gordan Kreković (Visage Technologies)

Following their introductory talks, PhD candidates will give short presentations, offering a first-hand look at their research and its potential impact on the future of science and industry.

In the past ten years, nearly 400 researchers have earned their PhDs at FER, with the total number of doctorates awarded exceeding 1,100! These figures highlight FER’s exceptional contribution to the development of Croatian science and technology.
