Antonella Barišić Kulaš, a young scientist from FER’s Department of Control and Computer Engineering, is one of four recipients of this year’s prestigious National L'Oréal-UNESCO "For Women in Science" award. Her scientific work in the field of natural and interdisciplinary sciences was recognized among 68 applicants, making her a role model and inspiration for young women in STEM.
This award not only affirms her accomplishments to date but also encourages the continued development of her scientific career. As a representative of FER, Antonella contributes to technological advancement through her research and dedication, while also challenging stereotypes about women’s roles in technical sciences.
The awards were presented for the 19th consecutive year, with the formal ceremony held at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb. L'Oréal Adria and the Croatian Commission for UNESCO, with the support of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, once again recognized four outstanding scientists, granting each a financial award of €5,000.
Alongside Antonella Barišić Kulaš, this year’s awardees also include Andrea Lončarević Vrabec from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Petra Maleš from the Ruđer Bošković Institute, and Mia Jurilj Sajko from the School of Medicine and University Hospital Centre "Sestre milosrdnice".
