Project MARBLE wins an ICT Award "Tesla's Egg"

FER's project MARBLE – Center of Excellence for Maritime Robotics and Technologies for a Sustainable Blue Economy, has won this year’s ICT award "Tesla's Egg", presented as part of the international conference MIPRO.

The "Tesla's Egg" award, a sort of ICT Oscar, is given to individuals, projects, and institutions that significantly contribute to the development of technology, science, and society. The symbolism of the award is based on Tesla’s famous experiment with the rotating egg – a metaphor for an idea that, once set in motion, changes the world.

Project MARBLE, led by Prof. Nikola Mišković from FER, has been recognized as an example of the successful integration of science, technology, and sustainable development. MARBLE develops advanced autonomous systems for use in maritime technologies and connects academia, industry, and the environment.

Alongside MARBLE, awards were also given to Prof. Branimir Hackenberger Kutuzović for the CADAPTI platform and to the Gaming Industry Center in Novska for their contribution to the development of the gaming ecosystem in Croatia.

The official award ceremony will take place at the opening of the 48th International ICT Convention MIPRO 2025 on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, in the Congress Hall of the Grand Hotel Adriatic in Opatija. On that occasion, Nobel laureate Prof. Ferenc Krausz from the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics will personally receive the "Tesla’s Egg" award, which was granted to him last year, and deliver a keynote lecture.
