Another successful Career Speed...

On Thursday 9 December 2021, the sixth Career Speed Dating took place and once again employers and students from the STEM area were successfully brought together in a unique combination of job interviews and quick dates!

What did this year's career dating look like?

Thanks to the joint organisational efforts of the FER Career Center and the student association eSTUDENT, Career Speed Dating once again proved to be an event with great business opportunities for both employers and students. Divided into a total of nine groups, each of the 54 companies interviewed a total of 36 candidates. The interviews lasted 8 minutes each. Afterwards, employers and students had additional 2 minutes to give their feedback on the interview.

Below you can read some reviews from students and companies who have participated in Career Speed Dating.

For many registered students, including Ivan Srbljinović, a fifth-year program engineering student at FER, such organised job interviews are an ideal way to enter the business world in a relaxed way: "I really liked the friendly and casual way of communication by the companies. It was very different from what I expected, so I will definitely apply next year."

For student Borna Šeatović, the seemingly short time for an interview at Career Speed Dating was enough to make a first business contact and explore a variety of options: "This was my first time at Career Speed Dating and I really liked it because I was able to get to explore many options and many different companies, what they expect from me and what I can expect from them in a relatively short time. All in all, a great experience!"

As for the companies' perspective, Daria Vuco from Ars Futura also pointed out that the Career Speed Dating format is especially appreciated by students who are just looking for their professional orientation: "Compared to traditional job interviews, it is more relaxed, students do not feel like they are in a formal interview. Also, we are more relaxed, there are no wrong answers, we talk about everything, their projects, and the students feel comfortable, which immediately makes it easier for them. We are very happy and have found some good candidates."

In the sixth year of Career Speed Dating, employers included the likes of Pavle Pavišić from Business Intelligence, who had participated in Career Speed Dating as a student in previous years: "It was very interesting for me to participate because now I'm on the other side of the table and have a bit more experience. The organisation is excellent. The process is very simple, we all go in a circle and have our time to get an idea of the students. The students are great, ambitious and have a lot of potential. We found a few candidates we liked so I think it was worth it and will pay off even more in the future."
