Biography
Filip Jukić (3.1.1993.) is a senior assistant (postdoctoral research associate) at the Department of Electric Machines, Drives and Automation, University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. He earned his bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD degrees in electrical engineering at FER, completing his doctorate in 2022 on sensorless control of permanent magnet wind generators using sliding-mode observers. His research focuses on sensorless control of electric machines, sliding-mode control, power electronics, electric drives, and renewable energy systems, and his work has been published in leading journals such as IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, and IET Renewable Power Generation.
Since 2016 he has been actively engaged in teaching, delivering lectures and laboratory courses in automation, electric machine control, and industrial motion systems. For his dedication to students he received the 2024 Roberto Giannini Award from FER. He also received the 2022 Končar Award for his doctoral thesis, recognized as an outstanding scientific achievement with industrial application.
He spent March, 2025 as a visiting researcher at Departement of Energy "Galileo Ferraris" at Politenicno di Torino within the research group led by prof. Gianmario Pellegrino.
He has contributed to numerous research and industry projects in areas such as energy-efficient machine control, renewable generation systems, elevator energy efficiency, etc., collaborating with both academic teams and industrial partners. He is fluent in English, has basic knowledge of German, and is an active member of IEEE, including IEEE Young Professionals and the IEEE Transportation Electrification Community.
