Research, Publication and Responsibility in Science
Course Description
Students will be familiarized with basic principles of scientific way of thinking and conduct of scientific research. They will learn which are the most relevant databases of bibliographic information and how to search them.They will learn about structure of scientific article, basic principles of writing and data presentation, as well as with a process of publishing a scientific paper.Through structured case discussions they will learn about possible ethical dilemmas in scientific work. Based on these discussions they will learn about principles of developing a sound moral argument.
General Competencies
Fundamental knowledge on scientific research, responsible conduct of research, publishing of research results and intelectual property rights. Experience in bibliographic and full-text database searcing.
