Distributed programming models. Distributed programming issues. Language translation processes in distributed systems. Language translation in service-oriented systems. Interface and resource description languages. Data, task, and service-driven parallelization. Distributed program optimization. Data management. Cache coherence protocols and consistency models. Case study: language translation in MidArc system.
