Optimization procedures in design of electrical machines

Course Description

Electrical machine design as a multiphysical problem. Introduction to optimization of electrical machines: review of optimisation algorithms, typical variables and variable boundaries, constraints, objective functions, Pareto front. Design of experiments and sensitivity analysis in electrical machine design. Application of meta-models: response surface method, Kriging method. Computationally efficient optimization based on finite element method calculations.
