Course Description

Architecture and functionality of the communication network: access network, core network, networking and interconnection. Network and networking organization. Influence of new technologies: wireless local loop, 3G and post 3G mobile network, optic to user (FTTx), all IP networks, ultra fast networks. Interconnection networks, connecting new generation networks. Network modeling tools and platforms: investment and cost analysis. Techno-economic modeling processes for the regulation of the electronic communications market.
