Course Description

Basic principles and definitions. Sound and vibration generation and propagation. Noise and vibration measuring methods. Rating measures, descriptors, criteria, and procedures for determining human response to noise and vibration. Generation of noise and vibration in industry, its control and the identification of noise sources. Control of noise and vibration in building acoustics. Traffic noise: prediction and control. Active adaptive control of noise and vibration. Environmental noise and soundscape design.
