Course Description

Definition of a local area network. Protocol architecture and LAN topologies. Multiple mediumaccessinlocalareanetworks.Multipleaccesscontrol.Standardsofphysicallayerin local area networks. Networking devices in LAN. LAN internetworking. Virtual LANs. Security in local area networks. Local area network management. LAN performance. Internetworking between LANs and public networks. Software-Defined Networking. WLAN planning.

Laboratory

Laboratory exercises are performed in three periods. Lab. exercises: 1. Linux OS - networking 2. Virtual LANs (VLANs) - Cisco tool Packet Tracer 3. Wireless LANs (WLANs)
