#### Course Description

Differential amplifiers, differential and common voltage gain, common-mode rejection ratio, transfer characteristics. Class A, B and AB power amplifiers. Amplifier frequency characteristics, low frequency and high frequency analysis. Properties of feedback amplifiers, feedback topologies, analysis of feedback amplifiers. Stability of feedback amplifiers, stability analysis, frequency compensation. Sinusoidal oscillators, positive feedback, typical sinusoidal oscillator circuits. Analog integrated circuits, operational amplifiers, integrated regulators. AD and DA converters, characteristics and basisic architectures.

6. Differential amplifiers with current sources, Differential amplifier transfer characteristics, Amplitude response; Lower and upper cutoff frequency
7. Common-emitter and common-source low-frequency response, Other single-stage and multistage amplifiers low-frequency response, Common-emitter and common-source high-frequency response
8. Midterm exam
9. Common-collector, common-base and cascode high-frequency response, Basic feedback structure and topologies; Properties of negative feedback, Negative feedback amplifier analysis
10. Stability problems; Stability and pole location; Nyquist stability criterion; Gain and phase margins, Stability study using Bode plots
11. Frequency compensation; Dominant-pole compensation, Transistor structures (fully- and partially- depleted)
12. RC oscillator circuits, LC and crystal oscillators
13. Characteristics of analog-to-digital (AD) converters and digital-to-analog (DA) converters, Building blocks of AD and DA (switches, comparators, resistor arrays, capacitor arrays), Frequency compensation; Dominant-pole compensation, Transistor structures (fully- and partially- depleted)
