Course Description

The course covers research area of computer supported education with the main goal of introducing students into new computer technologies that can be used in contemporary education for both learning and teaching. It gives a brief overview of of pedagogical and methodological principles necessary for successful implementation of e-Iearning. One of the main course topic is the impact of learning theories on technology development and e-Iearning environments, collaborative learning and computer supported problem-based learning, social networking, game-based and mobile learning. An overview of systems for learning on the organizational and technological level is given, with a special emphasis on open educational resources (OER), adaptive systems for learning, web-based systems for learning and mobile communication devices for learning. After completing the course, the students will be equipped with the knowledge of implementation and evaluation of e-Iearning environments.
