Asymptotic analysis

Data is displayed for the academic year: 2025./2026.

Course Description

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the theory and application of asymptotic analysis, which is one of the key methods for studying the behavior of functions and solutions to various problems where variables or parameters approach certain limiting values. Through this course, students will learn fundamental techniques and methods of asymptotic analysis, such as asymptotic expansions, methods for evaluating integrals, perturbation methods, and connections with numerical techniques. Special emphasis will be placed on the applications of asymptotic analysis in various fields of mathematics and engineering sciences.
