Course Description

Computer simulation of human characters. 30 character modeling: digitization, photogrammetric methods, interactive modeling, modification of existing models, other methods. Face and body animation: interpolation-based methods, direct parametrization, pseudo-muscles, bone-based animation (skinning). Audio-visual speech synthesis. Speech- based animation (lip sync). Computer vision techniques for analysing human motion and driving virtual characters. Procedural animation. Hybrid and other animation methods. Hair and clothes animation. Embodied Conversational Agents. Standards for virtual characters. Virtual characters applications.
