Životopis
DINA ŠIMUNIĆ je redoviti profesor Fakulteta elektrotehnike i računarstva u Zagrebu. Rođena je u Zagrebu 1963. godine. Diplomirala je na Elektrotehničkom fakultetu u Zagrebu 1985., a magistrirala 1992. g. Doktorirala je na Tehničkom Sveučilištu u Grazu, Austrija 1995.g. Nakon diplomiranja zaposlila se u RIZ-IETA, te 1991.g. na Elektrotehničkom fakultetu u Zagrebu, Zavod za visokofrekventnu tehniku gdje i danas radi. Radila je kao znanstveni novak, asistent, docent, te izvanredni profesor. Profesorica Dina Šimunić je dobila tri nagrade kao mladi istraživač s najboljim radom na tri međunarodna kongresa. S početkom rada na Fakultetu počela je i međunarodna aktivnost u Europskoj Komisiji, gdje je 1997.g. preuzela ulogu zamjenice predsjednika paneuropskog projekta COST 244bis: "Biomedicinski učinci elektromagnetskih polja". U FER-2 osmislila je i počela po prvi puta predavati redoviti predmet "Mikrovalne komunikacije" na smjeru Radiokomunikacije. Izabrana je za članicu Tehničkog odbora za telekomunikacije i informatiku pri Europskoj Komisiji, kao i za vezu tog odbora s Tehničkim odborom za medicinu.Sudjelovala je aktivno u radu projekta austrijskog Ministarstva znanosti.Bila je pozvani profesor u istraživačkim laboratorijima "Wandel&Goltermann" i "Motorola Inc".Evaluator je projekata europskog Petog, Sestog, Sedmog i H2020 komunitarnog programa.Sudjelovala je u COST projektu Europske Komisije o biomedicinskim učincima elektromagnetskih polja kao zamjenica predsjedavajuceg.Sudjelovala je u radu standardizacijskog odbora IEEE udruge na novim normama, kao i u projektu s Američkim Ministarstvom zdravstva (FDA) za Bluetooth i WLAN.Od 2001. do 2004.g. bila je zamjenica predsjednika Vijeća za telekomunikacije.Ima kvalitetnu suradnju s hrvatskom industrijom.Rezultate istraživanja objavljuje u stranim časopisima, te na domaćim i međunarodnim skupovima.Pozvani je predavač na nekoliko važnih svjetskih institucija (npr. ETH Zuerich, Switzerland, 1996; US Air Force, Brook Air Base, 1997, “International Scientific Meeting on Wireless Communications and Health” Ljubljana, Slovenija, 2002).Pozvana je da sudjeluje u radu nekoliko knjiga, kao npr.u knjizi C. Polk, E. Postow: CRC Handbook of Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields, CRC Press.Recenzent je nekoliko znanstvenih zbornika Europske Komisije, međunarodnog časopisa "The Bioelectromagnetics", IEEE on BME, IEEE on MTT, kao i međunarodnih kongresa, npr. IEEE EMC.Mentor je za 57 diplomskih radova, od kojih voditelj 11 studenata sa završetkom studija s naglaskom na znanstvenoistraživačkom radu, te za tri najbolja studentska rada na Sveučilištu u Zagrebu (Rektorova nagrada) u 1999, 2000 i 2002.
