MUEXlab team participates in...

This year, at the 17th International Conference on Quality of Multimedia Experience (QoMEX 2025) in beautiful Madrid, we had the opportunity to enjoy an exciting mix of insightful talks, posters, demos, and inspiring keynotes and to connect with many amazing people in the field. In addition to the main program, the last day of the conference featured an inspiring workshop and a visit to the Fundación Juan XXIII, where we were able to reflect on user diversity and the ways in which we address QoE and UX research.

We were also proud to present three papers as part of the program:

  • QoE and Task Performance Assessment of Mobile Robot Teleoperation via a VR-based Interface”— presented by Lea Brzica, co-authored by Mateo Paladin, Lea Brzica, Filip Matanović, Damir Kljajić, and Lea Skorin-Kapov
  • "Extending Beyond AGI: Designing a Tag-Based System for Filtering XR Content According to Comfort, Accessibility, and Safety Features" — presented by Sara Srebot, during the poster session, co-authored by Sara Srebot, Eugen Preglej, Mirta Moslavac, and Lea Skorin-Kapov
  • From System to Socials: Rethinking QoE-Centric Telecom XR Standardisation Efforts for Social XR” — presented by Mirta Moslavac during the poster session, co-authored by Mirta Moslavac, Sara Srebot, and Lea Skorin-Kapov

This work was carried out within the DIGIPHY project, a collaboration between FER, ENT - Ericsson Nikola Tesla, and Delta Reality.

Additionally, we would like to acknowledge the contributions of Prof. Lea Skorin-Kapov and Sara Srebot, PhD for co-organising and chairing their respective special sessions at the conference — QoE-aware Management, Architectures and Models in the Networks of the Future and Ensuring Comfort, Accessibility, and Safety in Extended Reality.

We also extend our gratitude to Prof. Lea Skorin-Kapov for her valuable contributions to the organising committee and for serving as Vice Chair of the Steering Committee. And of course — huge thanks to general chairs Narciso García and Pablo Pérez, and all of the organisers for putting together such a great event!

MUEXlab showcasing DIGIPHY demos at...

In December our lab members had the great opportunity to showcase DIGIPHY project demos in the scope of Inventorium Day, organized by Ericsson Nikola Tesla. The event brought together researchers from Ericsson Nikola Tesla, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, and Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture with the goal being to showcase internal and collaborative research activities and to foster future joint innovative ideas.

The DIGIPHY project (XR Communication and Interaction Through a Dynamically Updated Digital Twin of a Smart Space) aims to enable XR inter-personal communication and interaction, as well as the remote presence and interaction of persons and objects in the visual representation of a dynamically updated DT, spatially and temporally synchronized with a physical smart space. Project partners include the University of Zagreb - FER (coordinator), Ericsson Nikola Tesla, and Delta Reality.

Professor Lea Skorin-Kapov briefly presented the overall project aims, while team members Lea Brzica and Filip Matanović showcased ongoing work related to exploring QoE for a cross-reality chess game. Damir Kljajić and Mateo Paladin demonstrated mobile robot teleoperation via 5G and using a VR-based representation of a DT.
