Životopis
Branko Mikac rođen je 28. lipnja 1947. u Gospiću. Osnovnu školu i gimnaziju pohađao je u Zaboku odnosno Krapini. Elektrotehnički fakultet u Zagrebu upisao je 1966. a završio 1970. na smjeru Elektronika, usmjerenje Elektrokomunikacije. Nakon završetka studija zapošljava se u Institutu za elektroniku, telekomunikacije i automatiku IETA RIZ Zagreb. Godine 1974. prelazi na Elektrotehnički fakultet u Zagrebu, Zavod za telekomunikacije, gdje radi i danas. Poslijediplomski studij završava 1980. a doktorski 1986. u polju elektrotehnike. Godine 1987. izabran je u zvanje docenta, 1992. u zvanje izvanrednog, 1998. u zvanje redovitog profesora, a 2003. u redovitog profesora u trajnom zvanju. Predstojnik je Zavoda (2000.-2004.). Član je IEEE-a. U slobodno vrijeme bavi se glazbom i kazalištem.
