  abstract =     {This paper presents a solution for detection and
                  localization of circles in images. Two methods are
                  proposed that enable precise detection and
                  localization as a part of project RONNA. The goal of
                  this project is development of a robot for
                  assistance in neurosurgical applications. Two
                  algorithms for Hough transform and several edge
                  detection algorithms are proposed and reviewed, and
                  their results compared and commented. Results have
                  been obtained for both NIR and visible spectrum
                  images.},
