Configuration Management

Specialized software engineering tools were used to support software engineering QA, such as code version management and bug tracking.

CVS (Concurrent Versions System) has effectively been used for code development and maintenance by different team members working simultaneously on the projects. Bugzilla, another Open Source product, has been used for tracking bugs and bug notifications for the same projects.

Usage of three or more systems for all necessary project based activities introduced some confusion. The impression was that the usage of a single Software Configuration Management (SCM) tool which would include most of the listed features concerning online collaboration, project status, code management, bug tracking and other notification services might have been more efficient.
