Igor Čavrak was born in 1971. in Rijeka, Croatia. Currently he works as an assistant professor of computer science at the Department of Control and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb, Croatia (FER). He has 15 years of professional experience and has been active in the area of distributed intelligent systems and software engineering.

As a student, Igor Čavrak received a Rector’s Award in 1995 for his work on reconfigurable C compiler. In 2006 he received a Silver Plaque “Josip Lončar” from FER for outstanding PhD thesis. He is involved on award-winning courses Distributed Software Development (runner-up IELA 2010., runner-up UNIZG e-learning course 2009) and Open Computing (winner UNIZG e-learning course 2010).

He has published more than 20 papers in journals and at international conferences. His main research interests include distributed and intelligent systems (agent and multi-agent systems, artificial immune systems, complex adaptive systems), ubiquitous computing, open computing, software engineering and technology enhanced learning.

Igor Čavrak is a member of the ACM and KES International.
