Dr. Igor Velčić was invited speaker on "International Workshop on PDEs: analysis and modelling - Celebrating 80th anniversary of professor Nedžad Limić", under the auspices of the project "Weak convergence methods and applications", held at the Faculty of Science (Uni ZG), from June 19 - 22, 2016. He gave a talk on Non-periodic homogenization and dimensional reduction in non-linear elasticity in small strain regimes on the example of bending rod​

In period March 13 - 23, 2016, Dr. Igor Velčić visited Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, France (host: Prof. Andro Mikelić) and gave a seminar talk on Homogenization of thin structures in nonlinear elasticity: periodic and non-periodic.

Research visit to University of Houston

In period January 17 - February 6, 2016, Dr. Boris Muha visited University of Houston (host: Prof. Sunčica Čanić). During his stay he gave a short PhD course on Introduction to fluid-structure interaction problems and two seminar talks: The Fluid-Structure Interaction: Analysis, Numerics and Applications (Graduate students seminar) and Existence of a weak solution to a fluid-elastic structure interaction problem with the slip boundary condition (PDE seminar).

On June 11, 2015, Dr. Boris Muha gave a talk at the national symposium on Mathematical Modeling in the Function of Cardiovascular System organized by the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the Department of Clinical and Transplantation Immunology and Molecular Medicine in Rijeka, the Academy of Medical Sciences of Croatia - branch office Rijeka, and University of Rijeka Department of Biotechnology.

From June 1 - 5, 2015, Dr. Boris Muha took part at the international conference "Asymptotic Problems: Elliptic and Parabolic Issues", Vilnius, Lithuania. Within the special session "Navier-Stokes Equations and Other Models of Fluid Mechanics", he gave the talk on "Regularizing effects of a thin elastic interface in fluid-structure interaction problems".

Talk at the Mathematical Colloquium...

On May 21, 2015, Dr. Boris Muha gave a talk at the Mathematical Colloquium at University of Osijek Department of Mathematics in Osijek, Croatia. In the talk entitled "Fluid-elastic structure interaction problems", he motivated for studying such problems, gave an overview of most important results and presented his research contributions to the field obtianed in the framework of the MAMPITCoStruFl project.

On May 5, 2015, Dr. Igor Velčić gave a contributed talk within the intensive period of minicourses on Variational Methods for Plasticity and Dislocations which took place at SISSA, Trieste, Italy. In the talk, entitled "Non-periodic homogenization and dimensional reduction in non-linear elasticity in small strain regimes on the example of bending rod", he presented novel research results obtained within the MAMPITCoStruFl project.
