Course Description

Synchronous and asynchronous models of distributed systems. Selected distributed algorithms: leader election, agreement. Publish/subscribe systems: distributed architecture, routing, matching algorithms, mobility issues, scalability. Peer-to-peer systems: algorithm overview and comparison. Case studies: decentralized full-text search engines, content distribution networks, cloud computing, real-time data processing.
